Margaret Lloyd Playgroup offers places to children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old at our purpose built playgroup on Washington Avenue in Grove Hill.

The playgroup has been on this site for 25 years and boasts fantastic facilities for the under fives, We have a proper roadway for teaching road safety in the garden when the children are peddling round as well as slides and climbing frames and indoors we have a separate ball pond room for energetic play times alongside the usual paints, puzzles and various table top toys and games.

At our last Ofsted inspection we were judged as good across all areas of the group.

All children are welcome to join our group as long as they are of age to do so. As we have a purpose built changing area, we are also able to take children who are still in nappies and are happy to change any child as long as you give us permission on your registration form. No Casual Play Assistants perform this task.

Our staff and Trustees are all experienced and well trained. Most have worked at the playgroup for many years.

We offer a scheme called "pathfinder" which offers families the opportunity to take up flexible sessions instead of the traditional five mornings. Children are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare in the term after their 3rd birthday, this can be taken flexibly. For example you could chose to take two whole days and a morning. Any other sessions required are charged at £6.00 per session. Two year olds access the afternoon sessions with a ratio of 1 adult per 4 children. The fees for two year olds are also on £6.00 per session. Some two year olds can access free funding depending on their circumstances. See Helen or Jackie for more details.
